Some bumps already and it's not even noon yet

It's Wednesday around 800-ish in the morning. I'm still at home and I just called the vet to schedule an appointment to bring Tinkerbell in. Who is Tinkerbell? She is our 5-month old puppy. Scoobie, who I had written a blog about perhaps 1 year ago, was unfortunately put to sleep. She was about 15 years old and had been struggling with the pains of getting older. At first, we didn't think we would get a dog so soon, but somehow we did. Unfortunately, Tinkerbell has not been feeling well these last few days -- she has loss of appetite and a decline in activity. I don't quite know why. Maybe she ate something to make her ill? I really don't know. I'm hoping the vet can figure it out and Tinkerbell will be fine. And I'm hoping the vet bill won't be crazy high.

Another thing that happened... as I had mentioned, Tinkerbell hasn't been eating. So, I tried to coax her to eat by offering some delicious hotdogs (cut up into bite sized pieces). Well, Tinkerbell didn't want it, so right before I went to my room to get dressed, I put the chopped up hot dogs in the toilet to get rid of it. I know, I know, that's terrible. Waste however many gallons of water to throw something away. I think karma got me by causing the toilet to overflow and for water to spill out all over the bathroom floor and into the hallway. Damnit!! Why was I so lazy and careless? So I had to go clean that mess up and use all these towels and whatever else to mop up all that water. As I was getting more towels, I went downstairs to the garage and saw water dripping...or more like pouring down the ceiling, which I'm assuming is coming from the bathroom upstairs. Aggghhh, great!!! At least it was the garage and I didn't really need to clean it up, it was just water. Had it been the living room or some room inside the house would've really pissed me off.

So yeah, I'm waiting until 8:45 to go to the vet and then we'll see if I'll be going in to work or not. And that in itself, would be another pain in the ass. With the rain and the traffic... I'm expecting the worse. Oh and another thing, while I was putting makeup on, some of my blush powder spilled. Just about half of it fell out! Oh man!! I swept some of it up and also tried to save whatever I can. Then to top it off, for at least now anyway, I hurt my finger. I don't know how but I it hurts when I touch it. Like something had stung me or bit me. Eh.


***UPDATE: 10:30AM same day...

Right after I finished my blog, I received a call from my co-worker. She informed me to not come in to work. What?!? Well, I had left a message with my Supv earlier this morning letting her know that I have to go to the vet and that I would be late. Well, apparently, the transformers at my work building blew out and caused a fire. People who were already there could not use their PCs nor could they use the elevators. They were told to wait in the building until they could find out if the transformers could be fixed. With all this ruckus going on, I was called by both my co-worker and Supv to just go ahead and stay home. No point driving all that way and then be told to turn back around because the electricity is out. Heehee! Not too shabby.

Regarding Tinkerbell, she is getting IV fluids, she tested negative for the Parvo virus, she is getting some shot to stimulate her appetite, she is getting blood work done, and getting some meds. $400 later....we still don't know what's causing her illness. I hope something turns her around.

A chill Monday morning...still in bed and trying to get up...

Happy Columbus Day!! I'm sorry to rub it in for those who don't have this day off. Some of us government folks are lucky enough to get a paid holiday and so...thanks, I'll take it!! I need to get out of bed eventually. I have a few things on my To-Do list. I always seem to have a To-Do list and I'm pretty good about accomplishing maybe 85-90% of what is on that list. What's in the works today? Let's see... not a whole lot. First things first... (1) Get out of bed. (2) Get dressed and made-up. I showered last night peeps, so don't get grossed out if I don't have this listed. (3) Get coffee. (4) Pick up birthday gift and card for Diego (Nikki's buddy in daycare). (5) Go to Hullabaloos to check out the facilities for Nikki's bday party in Nov. (6) Get lunch. (7) Take Tinkerbell to the vet for Rabies shot and to have her spading incision checked out. (8) Pick up Nikki from daycare.

It's 930am now so I need to get out of bed in 10 mins. So, that's all for blogging today. See ya in a month or two... hehe or maybe sooner.. or not. :P
